Original acrylic painting, 40x40x4cm, on cradled ply panel, d rings and wire attached, ready to hang, sealed with a gloss finish, unframed
This series of paintings were painted en plein air at The Acres, a flower farm in Camp Mountain, northwest of Brisbane. This collection is the body of work completed during the first 6 months of my artist's residency.
I spent 2 or 3 days a week at the farm drawing or painting en plein air, commencing in May 2023. The Acres is a working farm which supplies flowers to wholesalers and Rusty Bucket Floristry in Samford Village. The business and labour of preparation, planting, nurturing and harvesting were fascinating, producing an ever-evolving muse of growth, blossoming and replenishment. The changing light as the year progressed and weather cycles contributed to the shifting moods and motifs of the landscape
