As part of my residency at The Acres during 2023/2024, I drew in my sketchbook every week for many months. I mainly drew flowers in ink with crayons to indicate colour. This rich source of observational material has led to a series of floral paintings painted in the studio.
I usually paint in series and this piece is part of a triptych. As summer heat increased the neat rows of flowers became more wild. The rains came and the flower paddocks became verdant microcosms of runaway flowers, weeds and insects. Dog Days evokes the feeling of heat and rain during a Queensland Summer
This painting is part of a triptych, but works as stand alone image as well.
All the paintings are finished with a gloss sealer. They can be purchased as a triptych with a 10% discount. Please enquire.
