Across the Lot is a series of landscapes . This series is based on drawings I made from life of the view from my studio. The original subject matter is right on hand if I need any extra information. That leads to an evolving battle between abstraction and representation. This tension between my desire to develop disrupted realism in my practice and the call of representation, achieved through direct observation, is keeping me on my toes. The struggle is real.
